No cash to the driver. Ever.
Moving day is chaos. The last thing you need is a stranger asking for a cashier's check. You pay us by card at pickup. We hold every dollar until your car is delivered and you've inspected it. Then the carrier gets paid. Less than 1% of brokers work this way.

How COD strips your leverage
Here's the standard deal. You pay the broker a deposit. Then a driver you've never met shows up at delivery and wants the rest in cash or a cashier's check before he unloads.
Think about that moment. He has your car. Then he has your money. If there's a dent, a scratch, a missing mirror, what's your leverage? None. The broker already has their fee. The driver has his. You have a phone number.
How our payment model works
- Booking: nothing is charged. No deposit.
- Pickup: the driver inspects the car with you. We charge your card for the full transport.
- In transit: we hold every dollar.
- Delivery: you inspect the car against the pickup report and sign. Then we pay the carrier.
- If there's a claim: we're still holding the carrier's pay. We pay carriers about 5 to 10 days after delivery, once the paperwork is in and there's no claim.
Why so few brokers do it
It's more work and more risk for the broker. We have to collect the money, hold it, and answer for it. Most brokers would rather take a deposit and let the driver collect the rest. We've done it the hard way for two decades because it's the only way the customer keeps any power.

Questions about paying for car shipping
What is COD car shipping?
COD means cash (or certified funds) on delivery. You pay the broker a small deposit by card, then hand the driver the rest when your car arrives. It's how most of the industry works, and it leaves you with no leverage if anything is wrong.
When does Mr. Car Shipper charge my card?
At pickup, for the full transport amount, after the driver has inspected the car. No deposit at booking. We hold the money until your car is delivered and you've signed off.
When does the carrier get paid?
About 5 to 10 days after delivery, once the paperwork is in and there's no damage claim. If there is one, we're still holding his pay. That's your leverage.
Why is paying by card safer?
Because the money goes to us, not the driver. We're holding the carrier's pay when your car arrives, so if something is wrong, it gets fixed.
